        DESCRIPTION:

        Colegiul Economic is a public school with 1200 students. It is the only economic high school of Buzau, a town in the S-E of Romania. Our students are coming from the countryside (70%) and a lot of them have unemployed parents or, worse, they are home alone, their parents working abroad. That’s why we try hard to involve them in many projects to avoid their involving in different bad activities.

        Our school was included in different European programs which led to a professional training of pupils at the high level of the countries belonging to the European Union, in accordance with the evolution of the labor market in Romania. Due to these programs we have laboratories for Informatics, Economic subjects. The two buildings of the school were modernized. Students and teachers of the school have been taking part in national and international projects and educational competitions.

        The constancy that we have had in developing European Programs made many teachers of different subjects took the opportunity given by European programs to participate in training courses improving their way of teaching, getting closer to the European dimension of education, becoming aware that all the students need the same education for being prepared for the future Europe. Every year we have celebrated many European events, for keeping alive the European spirit.

        We are interested in taking part in as many programs as possible,  so that our students could have the advantage of being educated according to the European standards, in order to improve their life skills and knowledge. This project is very interesting for our students because the religious field was almost forbidden in Romania till some years ago and there is really a lack of information and we feel that they would like to know more.

        “Teaching” them the European values, among them-tolerance, is very important  for their future, for their insertion on the European labor market, many of them are going to work abroad because of the difficult conditions in Romania.
